What we've been up to...

Hello Families!

In Math, we are continuing to work on addition. There are many different strategies we’ve learned to help make adding easier. We have practiced using doubles, doubles plus one, doubles minus one, counting on by putting the big number in our head, and using ten frames to organize adding more than ten. Now we are working on using these strategies to add three numbers together!

We are excited to be using the Raz Kids website both at home and in the classroom. We will either visit the Library to use the computers or bring the netbook cart into our classroom to access the website and practice reading. It’s important that each student reads at their assigned level unless I move them to the next level. It’s also important that they are only logging on to their own account.  Thank you for your supervision and support with Raz Kids at home!

Our amaryllis has finally bloomed! We are hoping it stays bright and colorful for a long while!

We are continuing to record our observations using both pictures and words to describe what we see.

Our class has filled up the marble jar yet again! We earn marbles when we’re working quietly at our desks, helping each other, or when we receive compliments from other teachers or adults at school.  Our most recent marble jar reward was to have extra time in the gym to play dodge ball!

Thank you to families who sent in shared classroom supplies at the beginning of the school year! We are running low on dry erase markers and disinfecting wipes. Any contributions would be greatly appreciated.

Enjoy the weekend!
