Last Wednesday we launched Reading Buddies with Ms. Burns’ 1st grade class. Reading Buddies will happen twice a month and it’s a fun way for the 1st graders and 3rd graders to get to know each other. It is also a great opportunity to practice reading skills in a meaningful way. During this literacy time the 1st graders read several books at their reading level to their 3rd grade buddies. Then, the 3rd graders have a chance to choose to read more difficult books aloud to their 1st graders. Everyone is excited and engaged, and we are all thankful to spend this time together!
