Hello Families!
In Writer’s Workshop,
we have been writing true stories that happened to us from our own lives. Often times, our Writer’s Workshop begins
with a read aloud of a mentor text. Many children have been inspired by the
stories we’ve listened to and the story has reminded them of an event from
their own life to write about.
Our third grade buddies visited our classroom to show
us how Raz-Kids works on the Netbooks, which are small, laptop computers. We plan to use the Netbooks regularly to
reinforce our reading and math skills through educational websites. In
addition, an interactive Bright Links projector, similar to a Smartboard, is in
the process of being installed in our classroom. We are very excited about the
new technology we will be able to use!
Reading Logs & Classroom Supplies
There will not be a
reading log assigned next week as it’s so short. However, I ask that families
continue to read with their child as many days/evenings as possible if time
allows.
Thank you to families
who sent in shared classroom supplies at the beginning of the school year! We
are running low on disinfecting wipes. Any contributions would be greatly
appreciated.
