Hello Families!

Last Friday was Community Reading Day at Green Meadow. Our guest reader was Jill Greene, the Director of Student Services for Maynard Public Schools. She read us the story The Gingerbread Girl Goes Animal Crackers.

Writer’s Workshop
In Writer’s Workshop, we have been working on persuasive letters. After deciding what we would like to have, we chose a person to ask, and added supporting reasons about why we should have it. We will deliver the letters when they are finished!

Discovery Museum
Two weeks ago, we had a visitor from the Acton Discovery Museum come to Green Meadow to teach us about the water cycle and clouds. We observed evaporation, practiced reading a thermometer in both Fahrenheit and Celsius, witnessed a cloud formed from dry ice, and used shaving cream to create three different types of clouds. What a fun experience!

Service and Fish Luau Day
On Friday, June 6th, students will be participating in a day of service to help clean up around the outside of Green Meadow School. After that, we plan to celebrate this year’s reading accomplishments by having a Luau in the field behind the school. All first graders should come to school wearing green, sunscreen, and bug spray. Additional details can be found in last week’s purple school newsletter. Please contact me if you have any questions.

Enjoy the weekend!

Ms. Little
