Hello Families!
In Math, we have been
exploring subtraction. We
learned/reviewed new vocabulary such as difference, more, fewer, compare, take
apart, and less than. We have been using counters and snap cubes to find the
missing part or the rest of a whole set, playing dice and card games to
practice comparing and subtracting, and drawing pictures to show subtraction. We have also spent time reinforcing our math skills online at
starfall.com.
Pages from your
child’s math workbook will be sent home as we finish each chapter. Some of the
pages may be completed and some may not.
You will find the workbook pages from our first chapter (addition) in
your child’s Thursday Backpack Folder today. Please contact me with any
questions or concerns.
We have been learning
about the life cycles of apples and pumpkins in Science. After reading several nonfiction
books, we created our own life cycle of a pumpkin drawings. Next, we will compare/contrast how the life
cycles of each fruit are the same and how they are different.
Classroom supplies
Thank you to families
who sent in shared classroom supplies at the beginning of the school year. We
are currently running low on disinfecting wipes. Any contributions would be greatly
appreciated.
Enjoy the weekend!
Ms. Little
